Stanton’s Auctioneers have been contracted to offer the business along with all molds, forms, some veneer, and related items. The equipment and product being sold is located at 27 South Main Street in Milan, Ohio. For over 30 years, Don, his wife Bobbie, along with their family members produced many varieties of wooden phonograph horn examples. This business offering gives all interested parties an opportunity to continue with the production of items certainly needed by our hobby. Bidding will begin Sunday, September 1, 2024, at 9:00 am, and close on Sunday, September 15, 2024, at 6:00 pm. All online bidding will be handled through Stanton’s website with the terms and conditions of sale being posted there.
Taken from Don & Bobbie’s Website the Business was promoted as follows: “The business is really a family operation also involving a son and son-in-law. In addition to extensive knowledge in phonograph collecting, the shop's expertise also includes repairing phonographs and horns, woodworking, model making, artistic design, inlay, engraving, and most importantly constructing wood horns. They've been making them for about 25 years, currently make more than 25 different styles for all makes of machines and are adding new styles all the time. All of the horns are custom made and everyone involved shares the same goal as Mr. Edison, “Quality”. Their horns appear in museums and many major collections throughout the world. The majority of buyers are repeat customers. Many collectors have 10 or more of these horns as part of their collections. The horns are prized because of careful wood selection, the shop's construction methods, and exceptional craftsmanship.
